Types of Protective Films
Protective film is a coating designed to shield sensitive surfaces from scratches, dust, and surface contamination during manufacturing, storage, transportation, and installation.
Based on the production process, protective films are generally categorized into two types: self-adhesive (non-coated) and adhesive-backed (coated).
In coated films, the adhesive is applied to the surface after the film production process. In contrast, in non-coated films, the adhesive is embedded within the substrate (one of the film layers) during production.
In adhesive-backed protective films, a thin layer of adhesive is applied to the film after production. These films are coated with pressure-sensitive adhesives.
Thanks to the three-layer configuration of the production lines, Vafadoust Industrial Group can produce films with different colors on each side, including black-and-white combinations.
High-quality printing of up to 8 colors can be applied to protective films. The printing machines at “Vafadoust Industrial Group” allow for premium-quality printing on a wide range of single-layer and multi-layer polyethylene films.
Polished surfaces
The adhesive on the film should be strong enough to adhere securely to the surface, yet gentle enough to avoid leaving residue or causing damage upon removal.
Uneven surfaces
Protective film for uneven surfaces must be highly flexible to conform smoothly to bumps and indentations, ensuring wrinkle-free adhesion.
Rough surfaces
The adhesive of the protective film should provide strong grip on rough surfaces without leaving marks or causing any surface damage.
Versatile Applications of Surface Protection Films for Different Surfaces
The type of protective film is selected based on the surface’s chemical composition and morphology. To meet customer requirements, the formulation of individual film layers can be tailored to deliver the desired level of adhesion.
